How do I play?
Swipe in any direction to slide every tile on the board. When two identical tiles collide, they merge into the next value (1 + 1 = 2, 2 + 2 = 3). Tiles that reach the dissolve value — usually 4 — vanish. Clear the whole board to finish the level.
How are stars calculated?
3 stars: complete within par moves. 2 stars: within par + 2. 1 star: within par + 4. Beyond that, the level counts as a failed attempt and you can try again.
What are hints?
A hint shows the next optimal move. You get one free hint per level in the first two chapters. More hints can be earned via daily and weekly rewards, rewarded video ads, or purchased as hint packs in the market.
What are frozen tiles and blockers?
Frozen tiles need two swipes to melt before they can move or merge — they slow your plans down. Blockers never move and never merge. Both appear in later chapters to raise difficulty.
How does the Daily Challenge work?
A new puzzle appears every day — the same one for everyone worldwide. Completing it extends your streak. Missing a day breaks your streak unless you have a streak freeze.
How does the Weekly Challenge work?
Seven curated puzzles, one per day of the ISO week. Reward tiers unlock as you clear more days — bonus hints and streak freezes. You can catch up on earlier days within the same week.
How does Speedrun work?
A fresh set of 10 levels every day. One continuous timer. Finish all 10 as fast as you can. Your best run is submitted to the global Game Center leaderboard.
How do I sync progress between devices?
Meld uses iCloud. Make sure iCloud is signed in on both devices and that iCloud Drive is enabled: Settings › [Your Name] › iCloud › iCloud Drive. Progress syncs automatically over the air — no account required.
How do I remove ads?
Purchase Remove Ads ($3.99) or any bundle that includes it — Starter Bundle ($4.99) or Ultimate Bundle ($7.99) — from the in-game market. Once purchased, all ads are disabled permanently.
How do I restore purchases on a new device?
Open the in-game Market and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the screen. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
A level seems unsolvable — is that possible?
Every Meld level — hand-designed and procedural — is verified solvable by a BFS solver before being shipped. If a level feels stuck, try using a hint to see the optimal move, or restart the level to try a different approach. You can also use Continue to get a few extra moves.
Is the game playable offline?
Yes. Meld works fully offline. An internet connection is only needed to display ads, submit Game Center scores, and sync via iCloud.
Which languages are supported?
English, Turkish, German, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and French. Language follows your device setting by default and can be switched inside the app.
Which devices and iOS versions?
Meld runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18.0 or later. It is universal and optimized for the latest devices.
